Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FounderFavors ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

2. Description of Service

FounderFavors is a voluntary peer mentorship community that enables founders to offer and receive informal guidance, mentorship, and peer support. The Platform facilitates introductions and connections between community members but does not broker, arrange, or facilitate any commercial transactions, trades, or exchanges of services between users.

All interactions on the Platform are voluntary acts of goodwill and community participation. No user is obligated to provide any assistance, and no user is entitled to receive any assistance as a result of participating in the Platform.

3. Nature of "Favors" — Not Currency, Not Compensation

The Platform uses an internal recognition system referred to as "Favors." Favors are not currency, tokens, credits, or any form of monetary instrument. They are a gamification and community engagement mechanism designed solely to encourage participation and recognize contributions within the Platform.

Specifically, Favors:

• Have no monetary or cash value whatsoever
• Are not redeemable for cash, goods, services, or any other consideration outside or inside the Platform
• Are not transferable between users except through Platform mechanics
• Do not represent compensation for any service, work, or deliverable
• Do not create any obligation, debt, or entitlement between users
• May be modified, adjusted, or reset by FounderFavors at any time without notice

FounderFavors is not a barter exchange as defined under U.S. Internal Revenue Code Section 6045 or IRS regulations. The Platform does not facilitate, track, or report the exchange of goods or services for other goods or services. No Form 1099-B or similar tax reporting is generated by user activity on the Platform.

4. Voluntary Peer Mentorship — Not Professional Services

All guidance, advice, feedback, and assistance shared on the Platform constitutes informal peer mentorship provided voluntarily by community members. It does not constitute professional consulting, legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, or any other professional service.

Users providing assistance on the Platform:

• Do so voluntarily and without any expectation of compensation
• Are not establishing a professional-client relationship
• Make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of any information shared
• Are not liable for any decisions made or actions taken by other users based on informal guidance

Users receiving assistance acknowledge that all information is provided "as-is" and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice. Users are solely responsible for their own business decisions.

5. No Contractual Obligation Between Users

The Platform does not create, imply, or enforce any contractual relationship between users. "Matching" on the Platform is an introduction, not a binding agreement. Users are free to decline or discontinue any interaction at any time without penalty.

The "Karma Score" and "Favors Balance" displayed on user profiles are internal engagement metrics only. They do not represent contractual obligations, debts, credits, or any form of consideration owed to or by any user.

6. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

7. Community Guidelines

Users agree to treat other community members with respect, act in good faith when participating in community activities, and not use the platform for spam, fraud, solicitation, or any illegal purpose.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create on the Platform. By posting content, you grant FounderFavors a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and process that content within the Platform and as described in Section 9 (Use of Data, AI & Platform Improvement).

9. Use of Data, AI & Platform Improvement

FounderFavors uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to operate and improve the Platform. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your content — including profile information, asks, give cards, messages, and other user-generated data — may be processed by AI systems to provide Platform features such as matching, recommendations, and the Favor Friend assistant
• Aggregated and de-identified usage data may be used to analyze trends, improve matching algorithms, enhance user experience, and develop new features for the Platform
• Your data may be used to train and improve AI models operated by or on behalf of FounderFavors for the purpose of improving the Platform and its services
• We will not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for purposes unrelated to the operation and improvement of FounderFavors

10. AI Features

The Platform includes an AI assistant ("Favor Friend") and other AI-powered features. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Favor Friend is an AI assistant and does not provide professional, legal, financial, or medical advice. All AI-generated responses are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional guidance.
• Conversations with Favor Friend are stored and summarized to improve your experience across sessions. You can view and clear your AI memory at any time in your Settings.
• AI-generated suggestions — including proposed Give Cards, Asks, and match recommendations — are recommendations only. You confirm all actions before they are taken on your behalf.
• Use of AI features is at your own risk. FounderFavors makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content.

11. Limitation of Liability

FounderFavors is provided as-is without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform or interactions with other users. This includes but is not limited to any reliance on informal guidance or mentorship received through the Platform.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FounderFavors, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
